What are the water quality requirements for water-cooled chillers?

2022-04-27
In order to keep the cooling performance of the water-cooled chiller in a stable state, strict requirements for the water source are required. Otherwise, various sudden failures will occur during the use of the equipment. Therefore, the use of water-cooled chillers must be combined with the use of high-quality water sources, so as to reduce consumption and use costs, which is conducive to the long-term safe use of chillers by enterprises. So, what are the requirements for water quality of water-cooled chillers?

1. pH

Any water that is too alkaline or too acidic cannot meet the needs of industrial chillers, and even lead to irreparable corrosive failures after long-term operation of industrial chillers. Therefore, the use of water-cooled chillers must be combined with the use of high-quality water sources to avoid a large number of equipment failures.

2. Softness and hardness

Since the water-cooled chiller needs to use abundant water sources during operation, if the water quality is relatively hard, it will affect the operation of the chiller. Especially in the state of high-efficiency operation, it is easy to cause various scale problems inside the chiller. After the scale accumulates to a certain extent, it will affect the normal use of the chiller by the enterprise.

3. Water flow

If the water flow is too high or too low, it will restrict the operating efficiency of the equipment, and even lead to a decrease in the cooling performance of the chiller. The ability to continuously increase the water flow within a rational range can increase the operational safety of the chiller, and at the same time avoid problems such as the operation of the chiller being affected and irreparable losses due to the small water flow.
